Earth Literacy involves knowledge of Earth and the role of the human within its dynamics.

as a field of study, reveals that the bio-spiritual dimension of
the Universe was present from the beginning and is intimately related
to the emergence of human consciousness. It reveals that our human
identity is bound through time and space with the totality of the
Universe and especially with the totality of Earth. Earth Literacy, as a cosmological context, nurtures the human capacity to identify and experience one’s individual self within the greater self of the Universe. This identification with the greater self lays a foundation for our human species to correct the destruction caused by the present industrial economic system and its consumerist lifestyles. Earth Literacy, as a movement, is capable of initiating profound social change, by inspiring the depths of human awe, love and feelings needed to transform our human patterns of destruction into mutually enhancing relationships with Earth’s community of life.
